Moscu building is located at a high density area in the heart of Quito City in Ecuador. This highland city has experienced a quick urban growth of tall residential and commercial buildings. Moscú was developed as an opportunity to create a virtual connection with the natural areas that surround the zone, especially with one of the main city parks called “La Carolina” which is located one block away from the building.
The proposal aims to reduce the air pollution in the area with the creation of green vertical accessible terraces located in strategic stories in the building. The terraces have double and triple heights which frame the exterior views to the park and create a sensation of a forest like area.

The main goal of this proposal is to incorporate sustainable principles to promote the reuse of water and resources in the building. Additionally, it is thought as an energy efficiency building created mainly with local materials.
The tower is characterized by large stacked volumes with cantilever balconies and large windows that create a unique architectural language. Moreover, the façade reflects a contrast between a series of pale natural colors with a range of vivid greenery. The mixture of materials introduces a rhythm in the composition of the structure that breaks the monotony of typical high residential building by amplifying the presence of vertical vegetation contrary to the traditional horizontal first floor patio.
